Inside Atollon: moments from our most successful year
2024 has been the most successful year in our 24-year journey of building our "dream system." This year, we have made significant progress toward our vision. In 2024, we achieved over 70% growth in both our product and team, which is an impressive change compared to last year’s 20% growth and the previous year’s 17% decline.
What did we achieve in 2024?
What is the most important for us is delivering tangible results for our clients. The more we concentrate on the real benefits our platform brings to the lives of our users, the more joy we feel when things go well, and frustration when they don’t. On one hand, we strive for user comfort, intuitiveness, and openness; on the other hand, we always aim for clearly measurable outcomes. We are delighted when our support helps clients achieve outstanding results, such as 100% profit growth or, even better, revenue growth. And we’re proud to say we’ve made this possible. We understand the profound impact we have on people’s lives. For thousands of Atollon users, we strive to make life better, whether it’s giving them more time to spend with their families or improving their work experience. At the same time, we are aware of the responsibility we carry, as any issues can negatively affect our clients' lives.
Investment in Atollon.
We are pleased that a large number of our clients have already joined and financially supported the initiative to build a new generation of Atollons, which has been our main investment plan in recent years. With the next generation of Atollon, we will get even closer to our roots - the dream of creating a system that requires no manual data entry, works independently for you, and reports results automatically. After 24 years of development, we're closer to that dream than ever before thanks to artificial intelligence. And we look forward to welcome to Atollon many other companies that are still manually entering data into old, outdated form-based applications.
What's behind our rapid growth in 2024?
The drop in revenue 3–4 years ago was caused by a deliberate slowdown as we shifted our focus from custom development (which had been our primary business) to a stronger emphasis on product development. Long story short, We decided to give up the relatively large revenues from individual orders for large clients, and started to focus more on product's fine-tuning and development for selected market segments. It was a challenging transition—a tough combination of lost cash flow from custom projects and increased expenses for product development. The journey was far from easy; there were moments when we were on the brink of failure. But we made it through, and this year we have started to collect the rewards. The financial strength of successfully delivering "ready-to-use" software to targeted market groups is now clearly visible.
What did we fail to do in 2024?
Honestly, we expected the development of the new generation of Atollon to go much faster. By this time, we expected to be celebrating the complete completion of all key modules. The fact is that we are only about 60-70% complete so far. The implementation has been slow, we had to solve a lot of basics that are not visible at first glance but still very important for user satisfaction. Now we are running at full speed and delivering a new module every month. On the other hand, long experience shows that if we miss something in preparation and development, it will immediately come back to us like a boomerang. Thus, we solve every detail of a convenient and beautiful user interface, paying attention to speed of operation and users' productivity.
What have we done in terms of products?
New generation of Atollon
We managed to deploy the new generation of Atollon to the first hundreds of users. The first client got the new generation in May and the second wave took place in August 2024. Now the new generation of Atollon already supports a large part of key business processes. We are happy to report that the initial user response has been sensational. Without reservation, the new user interface is being received with enthusiasm (which is not standard in the world of B2B applications) or at least with appreciation. We are still a few months away from 100% migration with all existing users, however we are implementing a new module every month. Starting today, we are strengthening our development team with an additional front-end developer to speed up the completion of the application and refine every detail.
New micro-services architecture
There are many innovations under the hood of the Atollon. We’ve prepared Atollon’s architecture for a new era. What was previously developed as a modular monolithic application is being rewritten into a micro-services architecture built on Kubernetes, starting from early 2024. To support this transition, we’ve onboarded a new expert who previously helped secure operations for companies like SuSe Linux, which powers critical infrastructure for top firms such as Airbus, BMW, and SAP. The goal is to strengthen security while increasing flexibility in delivering new services. Modern AI-powered tools require cutting-edge infrastructure, which our old monolithic architecture couldn’t provide. Microservices allow us to safely integrate the latest tools into the platform without being held back by the need to update everything running on it. This shift will make us more agile and faster in driving innovation. We are happy to share that we’ve already migrated key components, and in January 2025, we’ll launch our first advanced data analysis tool powered by AI, developed in collaboration with top-level experts in the industry.
How does the Atollon team work?
In 2024, we hired 11 new team members: 7 in sales and marketing, and 4 in development and consulting. Our newly formed User Experience team of two specialists will be joined by another team member in January, and we also created a new position for a DevOps specialist. Today, Atollon is powered by 20 highly complementary professionals, spanning marketing, product development, sales, project management, consulting, back-end and front-end development (for both the old and new platform generations), and DevOps. Our next hiring focus will be on strengthening the consulting team, as growing client demand has us slightly stretched in this area.
What's ahead in 2025?
If we’ve been racing up until now, 2025 is going to be just a ride. We have already consolidated several “out-of-the-box” products, we are building private-label solutions for specific customer groups, and our substantial investments into new services and the next-generation product will become fully visible. The year 2025 will be marked by at least 100% growth.
But the only growth that truly brings us satisfaction after years of hard work is the growth that helps you, our clients, grow alongside us. Your success drives our success, and that’s a true win-win solution.
If you haven’t joined the 100% growth challenge yet, we encourage you to do so—there’s still room for you, and we’d love to have you on board!
